Merrick Grland, Attorney General, announced that a special attorney has been appointed to supervise the alleged national security documents at Mar-a-Lago, which were allegedly created by former President Donald Trump.
A special prosecutor will oversee certain aspects of the criminal investigation into Trump’s Jan. 6 arrest.
Trump’s spokesperson claimed that this was an anticipated political stunt by a fogged and politicized Biden Ministry of Justice.

After being faced with additional legal issues, he declared his candidacy to the 2024 presidential election.

Garland stated that he made the announcement in response to Trump’s 2024 declaration and because President Joe Biden had indicated that he would likely run.

Garland stated that the Department of Justice has long recognized that it is in the public’s interest to appoint an independent prosecutor in certain cases. ”

Garland stated that Jack Smith, the special procuror, would be in charge of the investigation into the alleged secrets about Mar-a-Lago. Smith will also investigate whether any person or entity interfered with the transfer of power after the 2020 presidential election or the certification of Jan. 6’s electoral vote tabulation.

Trump expressed his opposition to the appointment as special counsel in an interview with Fox News. Trump said that he would not be involved in the matter.

Trump said that he has been going through this experience for six years. He said that he had been suffering from it for six years. He said that if someone continues to suffer from this for six years, it is not something they would do again.

He stated, “I have been found innocent for six years on all the charges, including false impeachments, Mueller finding no collusion, and false impeachments.” It is wrong.

In August, the DOJ took hundreds of documents from Mar-a-Lago. An unsealed list of property inventory showed that the FBI took hundreds of items of “magazine/newspapers/press articles and other printed media,” along with hundreds of government documents, with some bearing classification markings. Over 70 folders were also seized with clothing articles and classification markings.

Trump claimed that the documents seized at his Florida residence were his personal property, and that some materials were covered by executive privilege.

On Monday, the DOJ published a document refuting Trump’s claim. According to the DOJ, Trump cannot declare materials “personal” simply by saying so.

CNN reported that Trump’s legal team was “dreading the possibility” of a special prosecutor being appointed, as it could prolong their ongoing investigation. According to reports, the prosecution hopes that witnesses will be brought before the federal grand jury in the next weeks regarding the Mar-a-Lago or Jan.6 investigations.
