The disinformation governance board of Old Joe Biden has been just announced. It’s expanding its scope of responsibilities. This is what government agencies do. They are always trying to justify and increase their budgets and they are always looking for new ways to get involved.
Politico published 60 paragraphs of offhand information in its Wednesday “Politico Playbook” revealing the existence of the Board. It stated that the Department of Homeland Security had “set up a new Disinformation Governance Board for coordination countering misinformation related homeland security, with a focus on irregular migration and Russia.” Jen Psaki, who defended Biden’s Ministry of Truth, went further: “We know that there has been [disinformation] about a variety of topics, I mean COVID, as well as elections and eligibility.”
Is Psaki saying that she would be assuming more responsibility for the Disinformation Governance Board beyond what Mayorkas and Politico reported? It was difficult to discern, since she seemed as if she was simply pointing out areas where “disinformation”, had circulated. She is, however, the press secretary.
Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich questioned Psaki about the Disinformation Governance Board’s exact activities. He replied that he didn’t know much. “I haven’t dug in to this exact, I mean, while we support this effort, let me see what I can do to get more specifics.”
Yes, Psaki supports this flagrantly illegal effort to control what Americans think and say. She said she was surprised anyone would oppose the sinister new initiative. “It seems like the purpose of the board to prevent disinformation or misinformation from travelling around the country in various communities. It’s not clear who is opposed to that effort.
Some are concerned that the government will clamp down on dissident opinions in the name of fighting “disinformation.”
Some of the board’s critics are speaking out. Sen. Josh Hawley (R. Missouri) tweeted: “Rather that police our borders, Homeland Security has decided make policing Americans speech their top priority. They are creating a Disinformation Board. No, really. Take a look at what the leftist radical who runs it” Hawley included screenshots of tweets by Nina Jankowicz (the new Disinformation Governance Board top-dog), in which she called “America’s systemic racist”, criticized Trump (oh, how irony, it burns), and warned against “free speech absolutists”. That one was from Monday.
There are many other areas of criticism than those Alejandro Mayorkas or Jen Psaki have already listed as Disinformation Governance Board responsibilities.
