Tens of thousands of illegal aliens who are inadmissible to America under U.S. law are reportedly being introduced into our country through a deceptive and pernicious Biden administration program.
The report focuses on a newly introduced application process by Customs and Border Protection through the CBP One mobile app. In January, I wrote that the Biden Administration had a program to “legitimize”, tens and thousands of illegal immigrants every month in order to hide the number of illegal alien crossings. The New York Times, and DHS, both celebrated the supposed “decline” of illegal migration crossings at the end of January. The border crisis is still a problem.
CBP One has an even more concerning aspect. Todd Bensman, Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), explained that section 212 (a)(7) (A) (i) of Immigration and Nationality (INA) prohibits certain illegal aliens apprehended to enter the U.S. Bensman provided an excellent and detailed analysis and explanation. The gist of the story is that Biden’s administration has found a way to circumvent the law.
Biden’s administration allows up to 360,000 migrants a year from certain countries to apply for CBP One. Many of these people are using CBP One because they do not qualify under the law.
Initially, the appointments were set for a specific time, such as 10:45 on March 30. According to an update, CBP has decided to allow migrants to arrive at any time within a 24-hour period.
Not only has the program been expanded, but it’s also been re-designed. In May, CBP One offered 1,000 daily slots for port appointments. On June 1, that number was increased to 1,250 slots, all of which were scheduled within 23 hours. This means more migrants who are inadmissible to enter the country under the INA may visit the ports anytime.
What’s Happening at the Ports? By definition, none of the migrants taking advantage of the CBP One app interview scheme are admissible…For example, CBP’s “Custody and Transfer Statistics FY2023” reveals that CBPOs at the ports issued more than 30,000 Notices to Appear (NTAs) — the documents used to place aliens into removal proceedings — in May. That’s a 32 percent increase in NTAs at the ports compared to April (fewer than 23,000), and more tellingly, a 160 percent increase compared to May 2022, before the scheme was implemented.
Bensman estimates that “more than 99% of all inadmissible foreigners processed through the CBP One interview scheme were allowed into the United States.” That is staggering.
How many migrants who should have been stopped by the border are released into our communities? As usual, the Biden administration risks Americans with its woke policies.
