Joe Biden stated earlier this month that he was working to get Brittney Griner, a WNBA player, freed. “I’m hopeful”. He said, “We’re working hard.”
How’s that going? From what I can see, it’s not good. For marijuana possession, she is still in Russia serving a nine-year sentence.
Since Joe Biden is obviously useless, Dennis Rodman, a former NBA player, is taking over. According to NBC News, he plans to travel to Russia this week in order to negotiate Griner’s release.
Rodman stated to the network that he was granted permission to travel to Russia to aid the girl. Rodman said that he was trying to travel this week.
Rodman’s efforts are not appreciated by the Biden administration.
A Biden administration official stated that “It is public information that there has been a substantial offer from the administration to the Russians. Any other negotiation than through the established channel would be likely to complicate or hinder release efforts.”
It seems like the administration is worried that Rodman will show up and get Griner released. In truth, Dennis Rodman’s ability to secure the release of this ungrateful American is more impressive than that of the Biden administration. Rodman is credited with the 2014 release of Kenneth Bae, an American prisoner from North Korea. Rodman is more adept at diplomacy than Democrat administrations, so I’m not surprised.
