Senator Chuck Grassley claims “highly credible” whistleblowers have come forward to “allegate a widespread effort of the FBI to downplay/discredit adverse information about Hunter Biden.” News sources have reviewed a July 25, letter that Grassley’s office sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The top-ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Grassley signed the letter.
According Grassley, the whistleblowers claimed that the FBI mischaracterized Hunter Biden’s intelligence and damaging data as disinformation and shut down the FBI prior to the 2020 election. Grassley specifically referred to a 2020 FBI intelligence analysis, which was used improperly to discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation.
One month before the election, “an avenue-derogatory Hunter Biden Report was closed” by a senior FBI Agent from the bureau’s Washington Field Office. Grassley identified Thibault.
Thibault could have violated Federal laws and regulations or Federal Bureau of Investigation guidelines (FBI guidelines), Grassley says.
