The former president Donald Trump returned on Saturday to Butler, Pennsylvania to complete the rally which was interrupted by a bullet fired by an assassin.

We had reported that they were recognizing Corey Comperatore who was killed in the July attempt. In memory of him, they placed his firefighter’s jacket and flowers on the spot where he had sat.

You would think that the event would be huge, with many people showing up to support Trump and stand with him in opposition to such evil. Elon Musk, the owner of X, is among thousands who are in attendance. The size of the crowd is huge, even before Trump arrives.

“I’m not sure of the total number, but I think it may be the largest crowd that I have ever seen.” Jake Traylor, NBC’s X reporter, reported that “most people I spoke to in the crowd said Trump was here to finish what he began.”

Trump landed and the first family he greeted was Corey Comperatore’s wife and daughters.

The paramedic who helped Trump was one of those who spoke at the rally.

She described hearing Trump talk to his wife and children. She saw a man who showed resilience after “one of the worst experiences of his lifetime”:

He displayed strength and courage. He put his family first. He was a father and grandfather, as well as a husband. He was kind and gracious. He was humble and kind. I stared at his face with tears streaming down my cheeks several times. He was someone’s father. He is a person, just like you or me. I held his hand and thanked him for fighting for freedom and loving our country.

She thanked the first responders for their efforts that day.

James Sweetland also spoke. He called the people present Saturday heroes for standing up to the right to support their candidates. Comperatore exercised a right, which two men — James Copenhaver & David Dutch — were injured while exercising.

It’s not necessary to consider that exercising this right can be dangerous. But the attempt proves it.

Sweatband asked them also to forgive him because he was once a Democrat.

Even though the roofs sloped, they had snipers to protect them:
