Bryan Kohberger will be tried in 2025 on the 11th of August. This is one year later than originally planned.

Judge John Judge decided that the trial would begin on June 2, 2020, after the defense agreed with the prosecution.

A new court order issued on Wednesday states that the trial will be held between Aug. 11, 2025, and Nov. 7, 2025.

The hearing to hear arguments against the death penalty on November 7, 2020, remains.

Kohberger was a student at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, at the time of the murders. The school is just ten miles away from the crime scene.

On November 13, 2022, four undergrads died in a stabbing that occurred at 4 a.m. during a home invasion. Madison Mogen (21), Kaylee goncalves (21) Xana kerneledle (20), and Ethan Chapin (20).

Police found a Ka-Bar sheath with DNA from Kohberger under Mogen.

According to court documents, investigators followed Kohberger’s Hyundai as it traveled around the area in search of crime scenes and back.

The prosecution has been accused by defense attorneys of being slow to release evidence through discovery.

Investigators claim that Kohberger was near the house on the day the murders took place because his cellphone pings showed this. Defense lawyers say he wasn’t near the home and drove up steep mountain roads to “see stars, and the moon” at night. ”

Kohberger faces four counts of first-degree homicide and one count of felony burglary.

If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
