Previously, the idea was that journalism and media were there to answer questions and to report news objectively for the people.
This seems quaint and ancient today, as liberal media is all in to support the Democratic Party, the narrative of the left, and other progressive causes.
Kamala Harris has been criticized for not being forthcoming with her views. She has only given a few interviews, and most of her answers are either rambling or ridiculous. People are not getting the answers they deserve.
You probably already know what you think about her based on the things that she has done or failed to do during the three years she has been in office. Her radical past statements on issues like guns and borders are also worth mentioning. You can answer that she hasn’t made any improvements to the economy or border during her tenure in office. She and Biden have actively made things worse. While former president Donald Trump improved both while maintaining greater peace around the world, she hasn’t. It’s not a difficult choice.
The discussion that took place on Bill Maher’s HBO show “Real Time”, with NY Times columnist Bret Stevens and MSDNC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Friday was Orwellian to the extreme. Would you have ever imagined a journalist, as we defined journalism in the past, arguing you shouldn’t be asking presidential candidates questions? How dare you?
Ruhle said the same thing when Stephens claimed that we owed answers to these questions. She said that it doesn’t matter if Harris answers any questions about her plan because Trump is “a threat to democracy.” She called Stephens’ idea that Harris would have to answer questions “Nirvana” and slammed her for it.
Bret Stephens asks Stephanie Ruhle why Kamala Harris has not done interviews and stated clearly what her policy positions are. Ruhle responds that ‘We don’t live in Nirvana’:
Bret Stephens: “I’m an undecided voter. I’m not sure I want to vote for Kamala. My fear is that she… pic.twitter.com/y80j8kDIWh— Eric Abbenante (@EricAbbenante) September 21, 2024
If you don’t agree with her answer, will you vote for Trump? Ruhle railed. “Kamala Harris does not run for perfection, she runs against Trump.” Translation?
Stephens stated that “the problem with Kamala that many people have is that we do not know her answers to anything.” “I think it’s not too much to ask that she sit down and do a real interview,” Stephens said.
Ruhle dismissed the statement, “When you move into Nirvana, I will be your neighbor.” “We don’t live there.”
She is not a reporter, but a Harris advocate.
Stephens then tried to argue they should tone it down because the language isn’t helpful for their argument. He said that people don’t buy what they are trying to sell, saying “That dog will not hunt.” At least he understands how the American public rejects the absurdity of the attack. Ruhle, however, refused to give up and said that she was “calling the truth out.”
Bret Stephens warns Bill Maher and Stephanie Ruhle that the media repeatedly calling Trump a ‘Threat to Democracy’ is not working:
Bill Maher: “He got shot again, and he says ‘Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at.’
Bret Stephens: “We probably should tone it down. When we’re… pic.twitter.com/65rooYjWf4— Eric Abbenante (@EricAbbenante) September 21, 2024
Ruhle claimed Trump got fact-checked more because he lied more during the debate, of course ignoring Kamala’s boatload of lies and that Trump was unfairly fact-checked–including over things he was right about.
Stephens warned that their false and overblown attacks had helped Trump, which made his supporters more eager to vote for him.
The Americans don’t believe this because they have their evidence and experience.
Please explain how he poses a threat to democracy. They don’t mention anything.
Let’s take a look at who is the “threat” to democracy.
Maher suggests Trump doesn’t concede elections. Trump also left after losing his legal challenge in 2020. They ignore all of the Democrats who contested the 2016 election and the numerous efforts made to prevent Trump from becoming president, even though he won. They don’t remember the riot that occurred during Trump’s Jan. 20th, 2017 inauguration and they do not blame the Democrats.
We had more money, lower inflation, fewer taxes, fewer wars in the Middle East, and a safer border under Trump. Trump did not try to prosecute, kick-off, or tie up his opposition in lawfare. Trump didn’t replace the candidate who had received more than 14,000,000 Democratic votes in the primary of 2024 because they knew that he would lose.
Ruhle does not think that we should even ask about the replacement, or what Harris knew at all when that coup took place. How can she possibly hold Harris accountable for anything? Even if their narrative is false and based on shifting sands, they don’t want anyone to question them. You are not allowed to ask, because that would reveal all Harris’ issues and her radical positions which are incompatible with those of the majority of Americans. It’s not just that we do not know her answers. The issue is that she doesn’t tell us the truth about her views. The hate for Trump is driving them to want her in, without examining her position or exposing her lies.
