Republicans Demand Facebook Turn Over FBI Communications on Hunter Biden Laptop

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, stated that the FBI had sent him an October 2020 alert not to believe the Hunter Biden laptop story in the New York Post. On the Joe Rogan Show, Zuckerberg stated that the company was warned about a Russian document leak that was part of disinformation campaigns.

Two Republican Senators now demand any communications Facebook had with FBI concerning a Russian disinformation campaign in the final days of the 2020 presidential campaign.

Sens. Chuck Grassley & Ron Johnson wrote a letter to Zuckerberg requesting access to these communications.

“In October 2020 when the New York Post published articles that were based on evidence from Hunter Biden’s laptop, many news media and social media outlets inappropriately rushed and discredit the initial reporting and falsely called it ‘disinformation’. You have recently indicated that Facebook’s unwise decision to censor articles regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop was based upon an alert from Federal Bureau of Investigation.”

The letter also refers to Zuckerberg’s interview with Joe Rogan, in which he said that the FBI had told him that there would be an illegal document dump. This was Russian propaganda.

Two Senators are interested in knowing because whistleblowers recently claimed that the FBI leadership stopped an investigation into the laptop right after it was received.

Johnson and Grassley continued their letter by saying: “Your revelations that Facebook took steps, based on FBI guidance, to censor Hunter Biden’s information on its platform raises more questions about FBI’s actions concerning Hunter Biden’s computer. Whistleblowers recently claimed to Senator Grassley, that in August 2020, FBI officers initiated a plan to downplay derogatory data about Hunter Biden to shut down investigation into his possible criminal exposure. They labeled it ‘disinformation’.

As I have stated elsewhere, it is impossible to guarantee that any information Hunter Biden obtained in October 2020 from his laptop would have affected the election’s outcome. It’s impossible to guarantee that it would not have affected the outcome. The problem is that the FBI made the decision for the American people, placing their thumb on the scales and not allowing voters to know all facts — good or poor for either candidate.

Joe Biden will be giving a prime time speech Thursday night in which he accuses Republicans of trying destroy democracy. Matt Margolis asked: Does anyone care about 2020? Even if it threatens democracy, even though a powerful and rogue law enforcement agency is doing so?
