Yesterday, we discussed what the Democrats might do if they wanted to abscond from an election they, according to all indications, should be annihilated. We all know they would love to repeat the COVID panic they used in 2020 to utterly destroy election law and transparency.
What if their COVID obsession turns out to be a major help for the Republicans?
The Democrats want to get COVID old school in the second half of 2022. Rick last week wrote that the Los Angeles County Commie Klatch was getting ready to be happy with a mask again.
Los Angeles County is poised to reimpose the indoor mask mandate before the end of this month. Omicron subvariant BA.5, the most contagious form of omicron, is rapidly spreading. This could lead to an automatic indoor mask mandate later in the month.
They have the metrics in place to prevent another round of mask mania, regardless of whether new versions are as dangerous. This has nothing to do with public health. It’s all about control. They knew each variant would spread more quickly than the previous ones, but they were not as dangerous. They wanted to be able to repeat COVID Kabuki Theater.
Yesterday, we wrote that those at the top still believe in the mask nonsense.
Joe Biden’s COVID-19 Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha appeared on ABC’s This Week. He “reminded” viewers that the pandemic wasn’t over and they should still wear masks in public.
You know, I must say that I’ve been traveling again this week. I flew on planes and saw so many people without masks. The New York Times described this as a “meh” reaction to the variant in New York City with a 15% positivity rate. Jha was asked by Martha Raddatz, host of ABC’s “This Week,” what she would do.
It’s important to remind people about the science, the public-health science. Jha said that the public health science was very clear. Wearing a mask can reduce your chance of getting infected and help you spread it less frequently in an enclosed space.
Jha also supported Los Angeles County’s return to the universal mask mandate.
“My view has been very clear on this, which is that local jurisdictions, cities, and counties, as well as states, should decide about mask mandates. Because communities are unique and their transmission patterns are different, it’s important to recognize the differences.”
Jha believes that mask-wearing will make a significant difference, despite all evidence.
These people are psychopaths.
That might be a good thing right now.
A return to COVID fascism, especially in mask form, is unlikely to be well received by an electorate who has long since grown tired of this nonsense. Yes, progressive sheep from deep blue will gladly accept being under the government’s oppressive thumb. However, the rest of America won’t be amused. They won’t have to see the COVID throwback drama in their own areas. Just seeing it in blue states and cities will remind them why Democrats are not worth their vote.
If voters are still on the fence, this desperate attempt to sell COVID panic porn may just push them into the hands of the Republicans for good.
So mask up, blue dummies. Let’s find out how it turns out for us.
