NYC Mayor Eric Adams Visits the Border to View Illegal Alien Crisis That’s Pushed His City to the Breaking Point

Eric Adams, New York City Mayor, is becoming desperate. The chaotic and confusing border policies of Joe Biden are causing a flood of illegal immigrants to his city.

Illegal aliens are allowed to live in North America with a relative or sponsor. They end up in New York, Chicago, or Washington, D.C., where they live in homeless shelters, or in the homes of charitable citizens. Joe Biden failed to mention that the “fair and orderly, humane” border policy that he promised during his campaign was in fact unfair and inhumane for both immigrants and Americans.

Adams claims that the city could spend $2 billion to provide services for asylum seekers.

Adams stated that “Based on our projections, it is likely that we will be unable to continue sheltering asylum seekers in our current capacity and has submitted an emergency mutual assistance request to New York starting this weekend.” This type of request is reserved for extreme emergencies and asks for assistance to shelter asylum seekers in the immediate city. Although our initial request was for shelter to house 500 asylum seekers, the number of people in New York City will continue to grow, so this estimate will also increase.”

Jeff Goldfein, an attorney representing the Legal Aid Society, stated that if asylum seekers were allowed work, it would alter the dynamic.

Goldfein stated that “The federal government can resolve this program overnight by granting people work authorizations.”

Although it doesn’t appear likely, $800 million has been approved by the federal government for grants to cities that accept migrants. NYC has received only $10 million in federal funds so far.

Adams intends to continue the conversation on the crisis and the help he requires when returning from Texas on Sunday.

Adams’s visit was not appreciated by everyone.

Adams could have sent aides to his place to report back. However, the “grandstanding”, had a distinct purpose. It was to attract Joe Biden’s attention. His recent visit to El Paso was not even worthy of grandstanding.

Biden must convince Democrats in Congress to give the money to towns and cities that will care for them if he wants to open the border to asylum seekers.

Not just in big cities run by Democrats. Hot Air’s Jazz Shaw reports that a small New York town is also suffering from the effects of the New York border crisis.

What happens when illegal migrants arrive in a town? Jamestown, New York, population 28,000, is about six hours from the Big Apple. Residents in the small village discovered that 35 illegal migrants almost all from Colombia had arrived in their community. Many more are expected to arrive soon. (NY Post)

Why Jamestown? Because someone told another person that Jamestown was the best place to resettle if they wanted.

This was it. Soon, when asked about their travel plans, more Colombians answered that they needed transportation to Jamestown in New York. The border officials were relieved that the migrants could be shipped anywhere, so they didn’t have to ask questions. Many more are now reportedly on their way.

This is due to incompetent or confused policies, where border officials don’t bother to verify aliens’ claims of a sponsor or a relative who will take them in.

It’s only going to get worse.
