Nikki Haley, former ambassador to the United Nations, slapped CNN host Jake Tapper on Sunday during a CNN Town Hall when he asked her about her position regarding abortion. She told him to ask Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden “how late are they willing to go.”

Would you sign a theoretical six-week suspension if it came across your desk? Tapper asked Haley. Haley replied to Tapper. “I’ll answer it when you ask [Vice-President] Kamala Harris and [President Joe] Biden whether they will agree to 37, 38, or 39 weeks. Then I’ll answer the question,” Haley said, drawing applause. “Nobody asks them this.” “No one asks how late they are willing to leave.”

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, called on Congress to pass legislation codifying Roe v. Wade. This decision was overturned in June 2022 by the Supreme Court’s ruling Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization which upheld Mississippi’s abortion law after the 15th-week mark.

Haley called on a “national agreement” to end abortion at a press conference held April 25th, the headquarters of Susan B. Anthony List. This organization supports women who are pro-life and running for public office.

Tapper stated, “I believe Biden and Harris made it clear that they do not support any restrictions.”

Haley replied, “They said they would allow abortions up until the moment of birth.”

Tapper added later: “I described the Biden/Harris positions as having no restrictions. Harris’ position might be that. Last fall, President Joe Biden was asked if he would support any restrictions. He said yes. His basic position is that President Biden wants to codify Roe v. Wade. This would make abortion legal up until 20 weeks. So, I was mistaken about that. He was asked to just make a note.”
