Many avidly watched Presley’s life as she navigated divorce, her father’s death, and navigating the world while bearing the weight of the famous name. Presley and her father Elvis Presley were evidence that tragedy and heartache are not limited to the social station or racial status. Now tragedy has struck again, first through a heart attack, and ultimately through Presley’s death at 54.

According to Variety:

She inherited her father’s mansion, Graceland, after the death of her father, grandfather, and great-grandmother, and then inherited Elvis Presley’s entire estate when she turned 25. She sold 85% of the estate, which had an estimated value of $100 million when she inherited it, in 2005 to Industrial Media, but kept control of Graceland.
