Jennifer Lund and Timothy Parks were listening to a vulgar rap by YG featuring Nipsey Hutch while driving a Tesla on Sunday. They decided to park their car in front of a house with a pro-Trump yard sign. It was not the pair’s first time playing the song in front of that home. However, it was the very first time that their targeted harassment led to them being on the wrong end of a gun and facing criminal charges.

Police report that three men approached Parks’ vehicle shortly after parking it in front of his home in the Northwest Las Vegas Valley. Surveillance video captured the incident.

According to court documents obtained by 8NewsNow,

Parks parked his Tesla in front of the residence with Lund in the passenger seat… [playing] the song ‘[Expletive] Donald Trump. Seconds later, three men approached the vehicle — with one man later punching Parks.

The police said that one of the men took a gun out and pointed it towards the car. The video then shows the driver of the car running over a man’s leg and driving away. The police report that at least seven bullets hit the vehicle. Police were told by one victim that Lund had been screaming at him when the car was approaching the house. This led to Parks punching the man before the driver reversed and ran over Parks’ foot. The person who fired the gun reported that he was afraid for his life. He is not facing any charges at this time.

Documents in court reveal that Lund felt entitled to harass homeowners.

Lund said that since the Trump sign was placed in their yard by [the people], she felt she had every right to express her feelings. Lund said this wasn’t the first time that she had gone to the house to play a song called ‘[Expletive] Donald Trump. Lund says she hates Donald Trump and everyone who represents him or votes for his election.

Lund is accused of harassing the homeowners at least three times. Both are facing charges of assault and battery as well as stalking.

The bail amount for Lund Parks was set at $20,000 by Judge Rebecca Saxe of the Las Vegas Justice Court. Both defendants are still held at the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday.

This incident of political harassment and assault was fortunately not fatal. There’s an alarming trend in which anti-Trump protesters feel justified to target those who hold opposing views. The same sentiments that fueled attempted assassinations of former President Donald Trump–coupled with the Biden administration labeling the Republican nominee and his supporters as “MAGA extremists” and a “threat to democracy”–contribute to this kind of street violence in our communities.

As citizens prepare for a seemingly deadlocked election, extreme rhetoric disrupts the peace. As the election approaches, voters must prioritize their safety and well-being.
