The President of the United States attended an event for the Democratic Governor’s Association on Wednesday night as a huge hurricane battered Florida. This was following a great day in which Joe Biden asked where a dead congresswoman was at an event, and then got lost trying to leave a stage at the White House.
Many observers didn’t miss the irony of Biden chatting with his party elite, while people sat in their homes as devastation fell on the Sunshine State. What was the president talking about?
You can bet you that he railed about threats to “democracy”, which is basically what the one-note Democrats continue playing over and over again this election cycle. Grab your winnings at the window. It was Biden who raised eyebrows by citing this example. He apparently attacked Giorgia’s rise, insinuating, “happened to Italy” was a symbol of the demise of democracy around the world.
If you are keeping track at home, Democrats now claim that democratic elections, voted by the people, pose a threat to democracy if they win. After Italy’s left had run the country to the ground, Meloni’s right-wing coalition won a huge victory.
This lack of self-awareness is so severe that you can’t even cut it with your knife. It is obvious that you cannot claim that democracy is at risk if you don’t accept the results of democratic elections. Biden is suggesting that the election in Italy was rigged? Is he really saying that any outcome against the globalist left is unlegitimate?
Whatever the reason, Biden’s message isn’t “democracy.” Instead, it is authoritarianism disguised in meaningless fluff and respect for freedom. Without the voters being able to elect their representatives, real democracy cannot exist. They must not be condemned or made hyperbolic pronouncements by their supposed superiors. The World Economic Forum or any other group doesn’t have the power to determine who governs the people. It is the people who decide.
It is not Italy’s Meloni or her coalition that pose a threat to fair and free governance. It is actually the global left who seeks to suppress its ideology at any cost, even if that means making it easier for voters to choose against it.
It is only the beginning of the backlash in Italy. The left has decimated so much that so many people hold dear. While Biden laments Meloni’s actions, he also has the same problem at home with his Democratic Party. End results are what matter and no amount of “democracy talk” will convince people to vote against their interests in Europe or the United States.
