New York Gov. Kathy Hochul called Trump supporters clowns during a Thursday media appearance before the former president’s New York City event in the Bronx.
Hochul said to CNN’s Jake Tapper, “I’ll tell what won’t matter at all. That’s Donald Trump being a ringleader, inviting all his clowns into a place like Bronx.”
She went on to say, “New York would never support Donald Trump as president. We understand him better than anyone else, because we know what he is all about. He is only interested in himself. This state will continue to support Joe Biden as it always has. If he wants, he can spend time at these fake rallies, pretending that there is support, but meanwhile, Donald Trump will be on the other side, making sure Joe Biden delivers for all Americans.
The Trump campaign responded to Hochul’s remarks by saying “Kathy Hocul was upset because President Trump is drawing crowds in her State that she only could dream about; and Democrats are disarray, as Americans, Hispanics, and Blacks are waking to the fact that Joe Biden, and the Democrat Party, have been using them to get votes and ripping off for decades.”
Trump, who was in the state for his hush-money trial recently, said that he believes he will win the state this November, despite the fact it hasn’t been a Republican state since 1984.

Recent Siena College survey showed that President Biden had a narrow lead of nine points over Trump in the state (47% to 38%). Biden easily won the state in 2020, with 60.8%.
Hochul, two years ago also angered Republicans by telling GOP candidates to “get out” of the state and “head on to Florida”, where they belonged.
“We are here to tell you that the era Trump, Zeldin, and Molinaro is over. Just jump on a plane and go to Florida. Hochul told the city to leave in 2022. “You don’t reflect our values.”
Some of the comments reminded them of Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State of the United States and Democratic Presidential candidate in 2016, who made her infamous “basket full of deplorables”.
Right?” “You know, if you were to be grossly generalistic and put half of Trump supporters in what I call a basket of deplorables, that would be fine.” Right?” Clinton at the time. “The racists, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes, Islamaphobes — you name them. Unfortunately, people are like that. “He has raised them up.”
