On Friday, Israel was preparing for an invasion of Palestinian territory by ground. Several loud explosions could be heard and seen in Gaza.

Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst, who is a foreign correspondent for Fox News, reported live on the blasts near the Gaza border.

Yingst reported that Israel had concentrated its heaviest firing on the Gaza Strip ever since the beginning of the conflict on October 17.

Yingst reports that the Israeli military is focusing on striking targets in the northern Gaza Strip via air, sea, and land.

Fireballs are seen in live footage above Gaza City.

Israel Defense Minister Yoav Galant told journalists on Friday that it was not a matter of if but when Israel would conduct a ground-based operation to eliminate Hamas.

Israeli raids by sea and land targeted tunnel infrastructure under the Gaza Strip overnight as the number of hostages held by Hamas grew to 229 individuals.
