Cody Longo, who was well-known for his roles on television shows like Days of Our Lives and Nashville, has passed away at the age of 34.
According to TMZ, the actor was found dead at his Austin home on Wednesday night. According to the outlet, his wife Stephanie Longo was working at a local dance studio on Wednesday when Cody disappeared from her reach. After the ex-Nickelodeon star didn’t answer, Stephanie felt “uneasy” and called the police.
The police arrived at the house and knocked on the door. The cops finally kicked down the door and found Cody lying in bed.
Although the cause of his death is not known, his family believes that he died from alcoholism and a possible relapse. According to a family member, Cody was a long-time victim of alcohol abuse. Cody was convicted of a DUI in Los Angeles in 2013. He was sentenced to three years probation and alcohol education classes. According to TMZ, Cody went to rehab in the summer of 2022. His wife also shared that he was working hard to support their three children, a 7-year-old daughter, a 5-year-old son, and a 1-year-old boy. Entertainment Tonight received a statement from Stephanie.
“The babies and myself are devastated. Cody was our entire world. We are devastated. He was our best dad and the best father. We will forever and always love him. Our marriage was beautiful and we had 3 beautiful children, ages 7 and 5.
Alex Gittelson Cody’s manager said that Cody was his “dear friend” for more than a decade and told People in a statement.
His beautiful family is heartbroken. Although he had taken some time off acting to pursue music and spend more quality time with his family, we kept in touch and he was eager to return to acting this year. Cody was a loving, loyal, and talented man who will be missed greatly.”
