Morgan Wallen is a country music superstar. His fans either love him or loathe him. Wallen’s new album One Thing at a Time, Wallen’s devotion to the music has become public. Wallen had all 36 tracks from his album debut at number one on the Billboard 200 Album Charts.

It’s worth noting, however, that Drake held the previous record and had 27 songs appear at once on the Hot 100 in 2018. Taylor Swift had 26 songs in 2021. Beatlemania was at its peak in 1964. This record was held for a long time.

Here’s a list of Wallen songs in the Hot 100 (Thanks to Outkick who compiles it so I didn’t have to),

No. 77, “Don’t Think Jesus”

Before the album was released, six songs were already climbing the charts. Two of those songs, the Easter single “Don’t Think Jesus” from last year, climbed the charts again this week.

Billboard has yet to highlight Wallen’s extraordinary achievement as of writing. Two articles on Billboard’s website highlighted his 30 Top Streaming Songs titles and the fact that he landed his Hot 100 #1 with “Last Night.” This is the first solo male single to have topped both the Hot 100 (almost every week) and Hot Country Songs charts concurrently since 1981 by Eddie Rabbitt. This was 12 years before Wallen was born.

Country music had an amazing week with 13 country songs topping The Hot 100 according to my count (15 if Taylor Swift was included which I don’t). It is incredible considering that the Hot 100 is dominated by Hip-Hop.

Wallen’s chart record is a testament to Wallen’s ability to overcome cancel culture. Wallen was filmed by TMZ using the n-word in 2021. Wallen was then dropped by streaming services and radio stations.

Wallen made multiple apology statements that seemed sincere. Wallen also asked his supporters to stop defending him. Wallen made donations to black musicians and asked his fans to not defend him. One Thing at a Time was his latest example.

Wallen’s ability to transcend cancel culture is worth celebrating. His chart record might even last a lifetime.
