Since Joe Biden conceded defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 elections, a lot has happened. Kamala Harris, for one thing, is working hard to gain support for her 2020 presidential campaign. Some Democrats have endorsed Harris, including the Clintons. Some Democrats, such as the Obamas have expressed support for a process that would select a new team.
Manchin 2024
The most bizarre thing about this is that Sen. Joe Manchin, (I-W.V. ), now considers reregistering as a Democrat and running for the party’s presidential nomination. Now, Sen. Joe Manchin (I-W.V.) is considering reregistering to be a Democrat to run for the party’s nomination as president.

I don’t think Manchin will be a viable Democratic contender, but if Manchin announces his candidacy that might encourage other Democrats to join him (who may have a better chance).
Newsom Moves In
JUST IN: Gov. Newsom cancels his appearance at U.S. Ninth Circuit judicial conference scheduled in Sacramento tomorrow.
No reason provided by organizers of the event, waiting to hear back from his office.

Shortly after the news broke that Biden was dropping out, California Gov. Gavin Newsom made a curious move.
It appeared that he had been activated, and was ready for his announcement of his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president. He has been widely seen as positioning himself for more than a year to jump in should Biden drop out.
Not so fast. He has decided not to challenge Harris for the nomination, but rather endorse her.

I won’t lie, I expected him to challenge for her nomination. He’s made it clear that he intends to run for the presidency. This action indicates to me that he believes Kamala (or any other Democrat), will lose and wants a fresh start in 2028.
Never Kamala
Joe Biden may be a fan of Kamala but don’t look for a swan song. Biden’s biggest donor has said he will not fundraise for Harris if she is the nominee. John Morgan, in an ABC News interview, said he felt she was too left-wing and she would lose the election in November. Morgan supported Biden but left the Biden National Funding Committee when Biden endorsed Harris. He believes–correctly–that Trump supporters would prefer Harris as the opponent.
He said, “If Trump World had to choose someone against whom they could run, I believe she would be the choice.” Mar-a-Lago will throw a big party on that night if she is a nominee.
Morgan described himself as a “Biden/Manchin types Dem,” which means that Manchin has a major donor on his side if he runs.
