An Ex-Leftist Reacts to Biden’s Speech About Democracy

I had warned readers earlier in the day that Biden would make Wednesday night’s speech about democracy. Custard’s Last Stand was the one I saw. The upside is that I need to lose some weight. I don’t have any appetite. I thought I’d address my reaction to this ersatz commander-in-chief.

Dear Mr. President:

First, the United States of America does not constitute a democracy. That is Civics 101, my dear God. America is a republic. Because democracies can easily fall into mob rule, it was created as a republic by their framers. This includes any mob you want. We’ll get to that more later.

Second, the man who attacked Paul Pelosi was a mentally ill addict and drug addict whose intentions and interests were all over the place. I don’t think you will be shedding any tears for these lunatics who walk the streets of cities every day. Your people were able to jump back on the MAGA horse.

Talk about mobs…

Third, nobody is selling “MAGA Republicans”. It’s dead. It’s dead. It’s dead. It wasn’t the majority of Republicans that stormed Capitol Square on January 6. It was not even the majority of those who attended the rally. It’s not possible to ignore it. Americans have been suffering from increasing crime under your watch, sir. They have few tears to shed for those in the protected classes who felt threatened for just a few hours. You and your party have done the routine so many more times than anyone else that any dramatic effect it might have had is lost on all but you and your media. You have not spoken out about the anarchist sieges of cities or threats against Supreme Court justices. You cry crocodile tears about J6 and talk of unifying a country while finding any reason to raid the homes and destroy pregnancy centers of abortion opponents.

Democracy versus autocracy, you say? An autocrat wouldn’t use the Department of Justice to terrorize political opponents, make concerned parents domestic terrorists and try to criminalize any election rhetoric he doesn’t like. An autocrat would not freeze energy production in his country, raid oil reserves, or flirt with nationalizing it.

The results won’t be known until several days after the election. I’ve been voting since 1985. As far as I can recall, most elections were over by Election Day. Al Gore aside. Anyone with half a brain can see that your speech writers, handlers, and other members of the Democratic upper echelon are creating the conditions to buy time. Big Tech must sow doubt. If the vote is close enough, you may be able to skeeve your own way out.

Do you want fellow Americans to help make this day a success? Perhaps your fellow Americans are concerned about heating their homes, putting gas in their tanks, or paying their rent or mortgage. Perhaps they are still reeling from the fact you and your media lied about a drug that did not prevent the spread of a deadly disease and watched their livelihoods and businesses disappear. You and those who made money from it couldn’t have been more concerned. Perhaps voters are worried about the disruption of the supply chain due to a shortage of diesel fuel, or a railroad strike. This could happen after the election, despite all your promises about fixing it. They might be worried about being attacked in the streets or having their boutiques or shops cleaned out. They are aware of how your allies want to divide and punish their children based on their skin color, and even mutilate them. Some people feel unsafe outside their homes, while others feel very safe within them. Many people still recall the Afghanistan disaster. Some are even concerned about nuclear war. That concern wasn’t on the table when I was alive.

Perhaps they are aware that you want them to help you reach this goal so you can keep your office full-time. They don’t know what tomorrow will bring and don’t have the financial support of you or your party leaders.

I believed in your candidacy when you were still in the early stages of the 2008’s election. You had my support. Hell, I loved you. Obama was there and we all got the vapors, but it just goes to show how easily Democrats can emotionally manipulate people. If I had known back then what I now know. It wouldn’t have made any difference, but I would not have to admit that I supported you.

However, people aren’t being controlled now. This has nothing at all to do with “election deniers.” They will see what you and their party have done to them. The cat or the donkey may be out of burlap. We were cheated by you and your party, just as you did twelve years ago. Instead of being sorry and listening, you pushed on. The rest of us also paid the price.

Your ruling class and you have been uncovered by others, sir. You are everything conservatives accuse you of being. You were able to conceal that until now.
