Celebrity actress Hilarie Burton, from “One Tree Hill”, was allegedly attacked by Mark Schwahn. She credits Chad Michael Murray with her defense.
Burton was one of 18 women who alleged Mark Schwahn of sex harassment. She shared details about her alleged experience with Variety in a recent interview. Burton shared the same pleas as her co-star, who was also harassed by the creator.
“Please stop hitting me, please stop touching my body and please stop trying out to have an affair with me at bars. She said that she was very uncomfortable. Variety reported that Burton also agreed with this statement, adding, “Like. That should just be the naked fucking minimum!”
Burton called Schwahn “boss” throughout her story, but never used his real name. She claimed that Schwahn assaulted her while she was traveling to Texas with Schwahn.
“The flight back from there is when he attacked me. Variety reported that he assaulted her again on the way from Raleigh to Wilmington. He went straight to the set and told Danneel [Ackles] he and we had made out all day and that it was great fun and that he wanted to make her jealous.
She expressed how deeply the situation affected her.
It was too overwhelming for me to process and it is evident in the episode. Variety reports that she stated, “You can see that it’s not me there… I look like shit. I’m no longer connecting in any way.”
Burton was asked by a reporter why she hadn’t told anyone about the alleged abuse she was experiencing. She replied that she did, and her co-star finally came to her aid.
“Oh, yes. I told everyone. Burton stated, “Honey, I told everyone.”
Burton said to Variety that Chad [Michael Murray] came up and asked, “What are you doing?”
Murray was then able to explain why, despite telling others about the alleged attack, she was unable to speak out.
She said that Chad was watching his boss grab her in front of many people. “Many people had a lot of things to lose. You don’t need to speak up if you have a lot.
“He had the greatest power so he could push our boss off of you and fight. Burton stated that he was glad he did. “I want everyone to follow his lead.”
Schwahn is facing allegations of sexual harassment dating back as far 2017 but has not yet addressed these claims.
