On Thursday afternoon, former president Donald Trump was in Massapequa Park. He attended the wake of fallen NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller.

This is a tragic, unfortunate event, that’s terrible. Trump said, “It happens too often and we are just not going to let it happen.”

“We need law and order,” he added.

Diller, 34, who was a suspect with 21 prior arrests, died on Monday during a traffic stop in Queens. Diller was shot in the abdomen by a man who had a criminal history, as he tried to convince Rivera that he should leave the vehicle.

Diller served in the NYPD three years before his death. He lived with his wife and child, aged almost one year, at Massapequa Park.

The campaign of Donald Trump announced on Wednesday for the first time that the 45th president would be attending. New York City Mayor Eric Adams will also attend the wake following Trump.

Karoline Leavitt, the campaign’s spokeswoman, is a member of the Trump team. She stated that the NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller’s family and colleagues invited President Trump to attend his funeral. The officer died in a senseless and tragic way.

Trump has criticized the crime rates in cities that were under Biden’s government. Last month, this was evident at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Trump said last month, “Four years ago, I told you that if Crooked Joe Biden got to the White House, our Borders would be abolished, Our Middle Class would be decimated, and That Our Communities Would Be Plagued With Bloodshed, Chaos, and Violent Criminal Crime. We were right about everything. ”

In an interview with the New York Post, he claimed that the “radical lunatic Left”, was ruining cities by stopping police officers from doing what they are doing.

Rivera, who was driving, was shot by the police officers. The police announced that Rivera had been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession, along with the murder of a first-degree officer.

Lindy Jones, another passenger in the vehicle at the time of Diller’s death. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, as well as defacing a gun.

“We cannot arrest this criminal 21 more times.”

Leavitt noted in a message posted on her X page Thursday that Biden “would be attending a fancy fundraiser event with [former Presidents] Obama and Clinton”.

Karine Jean Pierre of the White House Press office said that Biden had spoken with Adams about Adams’ death. She said she did not have any “private communications” about whether Biden had spoken to Diller’s family.

The funeral for Diller will be held in Massapequa, New York on Saturday.
