Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, was on fire Tuesday when he interrogated Joe Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
It’s one of the best cross-examinations you’ll ever see about how the Obama administration has acted in the past concerning Iran, and how it’s hurt our allies while helping our enemies. In the end, he hits him hard.

Cruz started by saying, “Mr. Secretary you presided over one of the worst foreign policy disasters in modern history.” “When Joe Biden was elected president, the world was peaceful and prosperous. Now, we have two wars simultaneously raging: the worst conflict in Europe since World War II and the worst conflict in the Middle East for 50 years. “I believe that both were caused by the administration’s constant weakness.”
“Your foreign policies are exactly the opposite of what an American foreign policy rationale should be for our friends and allies.” He added that the administration had consistently attacked, undermined, and weakened them. This administration has appeased our enemies and has even sent billions of dollars in aid to those who wish to kill us.
Cruz interrogated Blinken about reports that the two had offered Israel information on Hamas leaders in exchange for Israel not moving into Rafah. Cruz made Blinken deny this on record. What will come out now?
He wasn’t finished yet. Blinken said that Joe Biden had done the most to ensure Israel’s ability to defend itself against Hamas. Cruz criticized him for cutting off weapons to Israel.
He then went into a flurry of activity about how the “sanctions” against Iran had failed, pointing out that Iranian oil production/sales have increased from 300,000 barrels per day to 2,000,000 barrels per day, enriching Iran $80 billion and Iran is sending money directly to Hamas.
He added: “In a real sense, the administration, including you and President Biden funded the Oct. 7, 2001 attacks by sending $100 billion to an homicidal genocidal government that funded these attacks.”
Blinken called that a “disgraceful statement”. Cruz asked, “Why?”
Blinken said they “went at Iran”, to which Cruz replied, well then why have their oil sales increased from 1 million barrels per day to 2 million barrels per day?
Blinken’s face was a sight to behold at the end as he was just left twisting, not knowing what to say.
Cruz said, “You have funded our enemies and undermined our friends.” The world has become much more dangerous and Americans are at greater risk as a result.
Blinken said we were no longer “alone”.
Cruz dropped him with a final sarcastic remark: “Remember the Abraham Accords?”
It was a stark reminder that the area had been more peaceful under Donald Trump, and is now in flames due to Joe Biden.
