Cannabis users in Toronto, Canada now have the ability to order food and cannabis delivery through one app.
The drug delivery option for Uber Eats (Leafly), was launched Monday, according to a press release.
“Torontonians over 19 years old can order cannabis from licensed cannabis sellers through Uber Eats. They will have it delivered by Cannell-certified staff. ”
According to the Canadian government, anyone over 18 years old can legally possess up to 30g of legal marijuana in public.
However, people must be at least 19 to use recreational cannabis in Ontario — Toronto is the capital of Ontario. “You must be 19 and older to buy, use, possess, and grow recreational cannabis. This is the same as the minimum age for the sale of tobacco and alcohol in Ontario,” the province’s website notes.
“We are partnering with industry leaders like Leafly to help retailers offer safe, convenient options for people in Toronto to purchase legal cannabis for delivery to their homes, which will help combat the illegal market and help reduce impaired driving,” the general manager of Uber Eats Canada Lola Kassim said, according to the press release. “Over the last few years, we have invested heavily in our delivery business and selection has expanded tremendously. Uber Eats has grown quickly to become a versatile platform usable by diverse businesses large and small.”
All I need to say is I am jealous. They should make it legal in the US because it would greatly help the crazies out there and our economy.
