Sheng Thao is the Oakland, Calif. Mayor and she’s in serious trouble.
Less than nine months after Thao was elected, the citizens of Oakland, who are indeed there, came together and collected 44,000 signatures on a petition for Thao’s recall.
Things got worse.
The FBI did not comment on the raid. The FBI was mum about the raid.
Thao called a press conference that was not planned. That was insane. The woman claimed the FBI had been involved in the recall, and she swore her innocence.
Renia’s former chief of staff dropped the bombshell about the scandal.

Webb accuses Andre Jones of running pay-to-play schemes both during Thao’s campaign for mayor and after she won.
“I had found out that Andre, her boyfriend, was promising people jobs in our administration, promising people appointments on different commissions and boards,” said Webb. “I believe that, out of the mouth of the people that told me, they were promised positions, they were promised board positions. And [they would always say] Andre, you know? That’s who they would say, ‘Andre promised me this.'”
Thao claimed that Webb sided with Jones.
It’s sad. I don’t believe she would do it otherwise. Webb said, “I just do not”.
Thao, as a woman, is indeed very wealthy. Tony Brass was taken by surprise and resigned after the press conference.
Brass said that Brass’ relationship with The Times did not last long. “I took one approach, and it appeared as though she had taken a different approach. “I didn’t think I was the right person to follow hers. ”
Francis Zamora, the former head of the communication department at the mayor’s office, resigned immediately following Brass’ resignation.
“I resigned my position as Chief of Communications. Thank you for your professionalism and dedication. Zamora said that it was a privilege to work with them in Oakland.
What would you do if the person who hired you didn’t say a word of thank you? Yikes.
Sam Singer, Bay Area public relations specialist, said, “It is a big deal if people of this caliber leave you.” “The city of Oakland is in crisis mode, and on the verge of collapse. ”
Renia tried to get the attention of the Oakland City Council in the immediate aftermath of the transition period when Andre Jones was giving out jobs like candy. But they were not interested.
Webb said that Thao denied the accusations at the time. Thao claimed Webb was mentally ill, disgruntled, and made up lies.
Would it make sense if I had helped her win an election, run her transition team, and then just lost my head? Webb asked.
The FBI interviewed Webb on February 3, 2023, for two and a half hours. Webb claimed agents asked her about Thao’s funding.
Webb remembered, “It all came down to the contributions made by the candidates and the appointments that were made like the Port of Oakland.”
Under normal circumstances, Thao would be toast, and the curtains are being measured for the next Mayor. Apathy, malfeasance, and other negative characteristics are equally prevalent.
Thao will likely stay in his current position.
