Nick Cannon is a millionaire but that does not mean he is willing to pay child support.
Cannon explained this in a recent interview with “The Jason Lee Podcast” that he has 12 children but doesn’t pay any child support, at least in an official capacity.
He said that, in response to previous reports that he didn’t provide financial support for his children, “It was funny because there were some narratives, like ‘Nick Cannon does not pay child support’, but what I was referring to was the child-support system run by the Government.”
Cannon, whose reported net worth is $100 million, stated, “My money is their money.” “They can have whatever they like.” “My account is theirs, and we have a lot of money in there. We won’t run out.”
When asked about taking care of his finances, he said, “I don’t care about that stuff. I believe the true currency is your energy. I wish I could make a contract, ‘You cannot take this much of my energy when you leave.’”
Cannon added, “Money is a fickle thing. Money doesn’t make people happy. Happy makes you money.’ “I’m going to do my best and make sure that every dollar I earn goes to my family.”
He said that he was also emotionally incapable of pursuing new relationships because he had 12 children from six different women.
He said, “I do not want to sacrifice my life for someone else.” “I only want to sacrifice for myself and my children.” I cannot give my time, energy, or love to someone I have just met. “I don’t need any new friends or relationships. I value those who are already in my life and am already too busy to pay attention to them.”
Cannon’s original comments on child support were made in an interview he did with a St. Louis-based radio station back in March.
He explained that he does not pay child support but added, “It’s not even about a monthly amount or allowance because I don’t give myself that.” They get what they need.”
He added, “Never has a mother of one of my children asked for something and not received it.” “That’s the reason they call me a provider.”
