According to one expert, Sen. Joe Manchin (D.W.Va) may not run for reelection in his Senate seat, but could choose for a higher office.
A field of Republican candidates from a state that is a stronghold for the GOP will make it difficult for the centrist Democrat to win a reelection campaign.
Greg Noone, Fairmont State University professor, spoke on Talk of the Town radio station WAJR. He cited strong GOP candidates like Gov. Jim Justice (R–WV) as a reason Manchin should think about running for the White House.
Noone stated that Joe Manchin “can have an effect on the Democratic Party — and he can bring the Democratic Party back into the center.” “He can make the argument that Joe Biden made a few years back, which was: ‘I am electable in November. ‘”
The GOP is targeting West Virginia’s seat in the 2024 elections. Justice and Rep. Alex Mooney (R–WV) are already preparing to challenge Manchin for Manchin’s seat.
Justice stated earlier this month that he was seriously considering running for the Senate. “It has taken a lot of planning, thinking, and all manner of discussion with my family members and many others, but it is serious and serious. Soon you’ll be able to tell.
