Princess Kate Middleton apologized on Monday for the edited image she and her children posted yesterday to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing. She wrote: “I wanted to apologize for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday,” “I wish everyone a happy Mother’s Day.”

Middleton was pictured with her three children, Prince George and Prince Louis, as well as Princess Charlotte. The image is still up as of Monday morning on The Prince and Princess of Wales’ X Twitter account.

Thank you for your kind words and support during the past two months. The caption was signed “C” by Catherine, Princess Of Wales.

Kate Middleton later apologized for the image that was withdrawn by The Associated Press.

The Associated Press, as well as other news agencies, began removing the image from their websites over concerns that it had been “manipulated.”

“AP originally published the photo which was issued from Kensington Palace. AP retracted this image after a closer look revealed that the source had altered the photo in a manner that didn’t meet AP standards. The photo has an inconsistent alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand,” said the news agency.

Kate Middleton will appear at the Trooping of the Colour ceremony scheduled for June.

Viewers noted, in addition to the AP comment about the photo manipulation and the woman’s 42-year-old age, that she was not wearing her wedding ring in the picture.

Middleton was also accused of making Photoshop mistakes with the 2023 Christmas card for her family, which featured both her children and Prince William. In this image, Louis looks like he’s missing a finger.

Kate Middleton was hospitalized in January.

Middleton is recovering after undergoing abdominal surgery in January. She has been largely out of the spotlight since December. The palace announced Middleton’s hospitalization on Jan. 17.
