Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden, is Dr. He stated that COVID-19 could have been obtained in a laboratory before being released to the general public.
Fauci’s Thursday comments were the most recent, but definitive, statement he made regarding his openness to the theory of a laboratory leak as he prepares to retire at the end this month. He said, however, that a spillover from animal to human was most likely.
Fauci suggested that the COVID-19 Pandemic could have been more likely to have come from an animal such as a bat. Fauci also criticised the Chinese for allowing wild animals to enter Wuhan’s market when they were considered dangerous to people. He cited photographic evidence that showed animals in the markets during the pandemic.
Fauci believed that the virus originated naturally. However, he stated in interviews that he was open to all theories.
Fauci stated that he would attend any congressional oversight hearings in which he is asked to testify. This is amidst several GOP leaders signaling that they intend to investigate the Biden Administration’s pandemic spending and its source.
A Senate Republican report in October concluded that the virus was most likely developed in a laboratory. It is difficult to know for sure because the Chinese government has not cooperated.
