Coldplay’s Chris Martin got caught in a trapdoor during a performance in Australia. Audience members were concerned by the incident.
A video shared on social networks shows Martin, 47, talking to the crowd just outside Melbourne, at Marvel Stadium, when he drove in the space. A video shared on social networks shows what appears to be a stagehand’s hands extending out of the hole.
Martin, still holding the microphone, told the audience that the fall wasn’t intentional.
“Thank you for catching me,” he appeared to tell the crew members underneath the stage. “Thank you guys. Holy s—.”
Martin did not appear injured.
Martin fell just a few days after Olivia Rodrigo did the same thing, falling through a stage door during a Melbourne Rod Laver Arena show.
Rodrigo had just run across the stage when she fell but quickly returned to assure her fans that she was okay.
She confirmed that she was examined by a hospital after showing signs of a concussion.
She said, “I watched the video again and it was pretty scary.” “[The] show must go on,” she added. ”
She said, “That’s showbiz for you.”
Coldplay is currently in Australia for the Australian leg of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. Sydney and Auckland are scheduled to stop (each) by mid-November.
