After the second attempted assassination of former President Trump, President Biden condemned “political violence” on Sunday.

The Democratic President said he was briefed about the incident and federal investigation.

“A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former President and those around him safe,” Biden said in a statement, adding that he was “relieved” the Republican presidential candidate was “unharmed.”

Biden stated, “There is an ongoing investigation into the incident, as law enforcement gathered more information about what occurred. As I’ve said before, violence of any kind is not welcome in this country. I’ve directed my team to continue making sure the Secret Service has all the resources, capabilities, and protective measures necessary to ensure former President Trump’s safety.”
