Sam Brinton was named deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition on June 29. He tweeted that he was happy to be “one of the first openly female federal leaders” He was wearing lipstick, a red jumpsuit, with a belt and high heels, that featured the American flag, and perhaps a necklace and high heels. Recently, he was charged with felony theft after stealing a bag belonging to a woman from an airport.
It’s official. As of June 19th, I now serve my nation as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy in the Department of Energy. pic.twitter.com/zLq3Bf97X2

The Alpha News report on Monday said that Brinton was detained last month.
The story began Sept. 16 when a woman flew to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) reported that her bag was missing. Alpha News reports, “Airport records confirmed the arrival of the navy blue Vera Bradley rolling bag at 4:40 p.m. but it was not on the carousel.”
Video footage showed that Brinton had just arrived in MSP and was the deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition. He hadn’t checked his bag, so he wasn’t required to go through baggage claim. Alpha News reports that Brinton left the airport in an Uber to check in at the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront Hotel. Then he returned to MSP on September 18 to fly to Washington.
Brinton was apparently fond of the woman’s bag. “Surveillance footage at Dulles International Airport revealed that Brinton was seen with the bag on a return flight from Europe on October 9, 2009. Brinton was also asked by police if he took anything that wasn’t his own that day. ”
Brinton later admitted that the bag had been taken by him, but said that it was his clothes that were inside the bag.
Brinton, possibly realizing how unlikely this sounds, “Allegedly called two hours later the investigating officers and apologized for not being ‘completely truthful’. ”
A few months ago my co-worker wrote: “A modest proposal for Mr. Brinton: stop flaunting your gender fluidity and your ‘puppy play.’ Devote the time you thereby save to focusing on your responsibilities in the DOE and executing them well. You may end up being a better Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy in the Department of Energy if you actually focus on your job than what your appointment symbolizes about America today. But I know there is no chance you’ll take my advice because to do would negate the purpose of your appointment in the first place.” Well, I hate to say “We told you so,” but we told you so.
Sam Brinton was not hired as he is a skilled expert in nuclear waste. But he could be. He was rejected despite his passion for wearing women’s clothes, and declaring that he is “gender-fluid.” Biden’s administration favors identity politics over everything else. The job was secondary.
