Kamala Harris Sparks Controversy with New Accent from Detroit Pulpit Following ‘SNL’ Backlash

The failed attempt by Vice President Kamala Harris to appear like a person with a good sense of humor, making a late-minute appearance on “Saturday Night Live” this week.

Harris then made comments at a Detroit church on Sunday. It went as you would expect – with that fake, ridiculous accent displayed from the pulpit.

The Detroit News reported, “Harris told the congregants of Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ located on Schaefer Highway in Northwest Detroit that they need to “speak up for those that can’t do so for themselves” and that it is time to “turn the page on hatred.”

In an attempt to flesh out the rote rhetoric she uses about page-turning or hatred, Harris adopted a strange accent when quoting from the Holy Bible.

Watch:

We were born at this time. The road ahead will not be easy. In times of uncertainty, we are reminded that weeping might last for the night, but joy comes in the morning,” Harris stated, quoting Psalms 30:5. “And, Church, Morning is on the way.”

It’s not the best sound, but you can hear the faux Southern drawl Harris used to portray herself as a Black woman who was down to the struggle.

Her love for her also raises the question of which performance she gave in the last 24 hours was the worst: the skit at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, or the sermon in church? I confess to leaning toward the comedy show which, in terms of optics debacles, is more damaging.

It doesn’t matter what you choose. It’s her performance as Vice President, as a Senator from California, and as a Prosecutor for San Francisco, as well as her entire tenure as a California prosecutor, that matters to the American public. If you look at her record honestly, it will be easy to decide on Tuesday who should become president. And that would bring President Trump back to the White House.
